The Accommodation
Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?
The food was superb, I was amazed at the food that was served considering they were cooking over an open fire.
I would say don't bother paying for the single occupancy supplement, as two of the camps everyone is within the same space anyway. Also, in our group, with less people, meant the three of us, as singles, got a tent to ourselves anyway.
Before Your Holiday
Did you have all of the information you needed to:
How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?
There was only one section that I had to query from the information provided, and that was the USD cash required to pay for the game drive, and the conservation fee. I wondered way it was written twice, in the explanation. Also, I would add to the information, that in Botswana they will only accept USDs that are the 'newer' notes. Luckily, only 5 of the USDdollars that I had taken, did not meet the requirements, so it would be worth pointing out that when you acquire your USDs specify, or check, that these are the type that are acceptable. It was too do with the circles around the central figure on each note.
How could we improve the way we handled your booking and payment?
Nothing to add to improve, all very efficient and professional.
Do you have any other feedback for us?
No amount of description can describe the experience, you need to experience it for yourself! Living and riding each day, outside in the bush, with no fences, between you and the animals is unique. How the wild animals react to horse riders is completely different to them being approached by a vehicle, so be prepared for some close encounters. It maybe an odd comment, but it was so unusual that it struck me, whilst I was there, I did not see any litter, and very little of mankinds intrusion on the planet. You really got a sense of how the ecosystems of life in Botswana interact, and how important each element is to the others.
Julia (this is their first In The Saddle holiday) Immense! Trip of a life time! | I didn't have any expectations but I would say that there is far longer canters than most of us would be used to in the UK. Sometimes we would canter for 7 or 8 minutes at a time, walk for 10 mins, and then go again for another 5 minute canter. No trotting, just walking or cantering.
