Pat who has been on 11 In The Saddle rides. A fun-filled week in the Arctic Snow | We both enjoyed riding a number of different horses, in the indoor arena, on the oval track and along the forest trails, riding some mornings, afternoons and one night ride. All the horses we rode (9 in total between us) were responsive and easy to look after - to catch, groom and tack up.
We both enjoyed tolting. It's a shame that we can't tolt on horses at home.

Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?

The accommodation is fairly basic (which we knew having been there before) but adequate for a week's stay.
The food tended to be better and more substantial when the Farm was entertaining other day visitors.
In the evenings it would have been nicer sometimes to have had a break between the end of the activity (to change, freshen up etc) and the meal.

Before Your Holiday

How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?

You recommended we take some Swedish currency. However at the only opportunity we had to use it, ie to buy a drink with our meal at the Ice Hotel visit, the restaurant refused to take cash.
All retail outlets in Sweden, including the shop at Ofelas, prefer to take card payments.

[Abbie from ITS replies: Many thanks for this feedback, we have reviewed and updated the Money section of our information sheet accordingly].

Do you have any other feedback for us?

The main problem with this holiday was the limited range of flights to and from Kiruna from the UK, necessitating spending one extra day at Ofelas with no organised activity. This wasn't a problem for us particularly as we received meals and went snowshoeing from the Farm.

A particular feature of this holiday is the variety of non-riding activities which were enjoyed by us and the one non-rider in the group, who also was able to go snowmobiling a couple more times.
