Ruth who has been on 6 In The Saddle rides. Great time learning to be Cowgirls!! | We were matched up with our horses after a discussion on our ability, and requirements. We did need to switch later, but in the end we got our perfect match.
It was a shame that the rides were not better divided up into riding ability. Experience riders often went out with a group of novice riders.This did effect the pace of the rides sometimes. We would have liked more opportunities for faster "lopping"
Maybe in future requests of what was happening the following day could be discussed the evening before over our meal. There was always a delay with the rides going out, which could have been better organised. I think that the week we were there they were a little overstretched.
The horse were beautifully cared for as was the tack.

Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?

Our accommodation really good and comfortable A warming gas fire as needed. It was still in the early season when we were there,and the nights and early morning were chilly.They had a snow storm the Friday before we arrived. But the last few days we were in T-shirts.
The food was good and plentiful. You could help yourself to either hot or cold drinks as needed. I took my own supply of English tea!! Beer and wine were available in the evenings.

How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?

We would always book our riding holidays with In The Saddle. There service is second to none. We will never forget the wonderful support we received from Olwyn when stuck in Argentina at the beginning of the pandemic. Five stars.
We buy had all information we needed in our little itinerary booklet.

How could we improve the way we handled your booking and payment?

We had a fabulous holiday at Rocking Z Guest Ranch. We are missing the amazing scenery and riding our lovely horses.The family and staff were welcoming and friendly. Well worth the long plane journey.
We traveled on afterwards for 4 days in Yellowstone national park which was definitely worth a visit.
But pack a variety of clothing as the temperature difference can be extreme. We had to buy more fleeces for Yellowstone, as it was seriously cold with snow at the end of May!
A note we wish we had known that there are no taxis at Helena airport. It is best to arrange transport to your hotel in the evening prior to your arrival. We had to borrow someone's phone to phone for our hotel transfer.
Helena has got to be the nicest and quietest airport we have ever visited. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
