At White Stallion Ranch you find 3,000 acres of wide-open land at the foot of the Tucson Mountains. Miles of scenic horseback riding and hiking trails offer guests the opportunity to explore the unique Sonoran desert. White Stallion Ranch is ideal for families and groups looking for fun riding because they cater for all abilities.

Riding from the ranch is out in the Sonoran desert and the surrounding mountains. Although secluded and surrounded by the natural desert, White Stallion is only 40 minutes from Tucson.

There are many other activities available for when you do not wish to ride. These include rock climbing, shooting, e-bikes, craft classes, tennis, volleyball, basketball, badminton or paddle tennis on the versatile Sport Court; fitness centre and sauna; and a heated pool and indoor hot tub.

Several different guided hikes are offered each week. From an easy, informative, nature-walk to a more challenging climb to the top of Panther Peak in the Saguaro National Park. The spa offers massages and body treatments (at extra cost) and for an additional fee, championship golf is available nearby in Tucson.

White Stallion Ranch is suitable for all level of riders and the ranch has a herd of well-trained horses. The tack is Western.

Riding is offered six days of the week (there is no riding on Sundays): mountain rides, slow walking rides, faster loping rides and all day rides, adult only cheese and wine rides, as well as informal instruction periods (extra cost).

Children aged five years and over are welcome on the slower rides, whilst children aged eight years and over may qualify for the fast rides, mountain rides and all day rides. Weekly rodeos, team penning, team sorting and hayrides are also part of the programme.

There are 41 authentically decorated en-suite rooms at White Stallion, which are fully air-conditioned. Some suites have fireplaces and Jacuzzi bath tubs. Every room has a private patio and views of the cactus gardens or mountains.

Open all year. Arrive/depart any day and stay as long as you wish (minimum three nights). There is no horseback riding on Sundays so this would be the best day to arrive or depart if you don't wish to miss anything.

There is a discounted rate for third or fourth person in a room.

INCLUDES Seven nights accommodation at the ranch; three meals per day; horseback riding (no riding on Sundays); ranch activities; transfers, 15% gratuities and 9.315% taxes.  [NB for stays of less than 6 nights, additional ranch activities are not included.]

TRANSFERS From Tucson airport are included for stays of four nights or more and cost £22.71 per person each way for short stays.

Phoenix is about 1.5 hours drive from Tucson and so if flying to Phoenix you will either need a rental car to get to the ranch or to take a shuttle bus from Phoenix to Tucson.

Getting There

The nearest airport is Tucson International Airport, which is 40 minutes by road from the ranch. Transfers to and from the airport are included in the rate when you stay for four or more nights. Otherwise transfers can be arranged for you at additional cost.

Transfers from hotels in Tucson are also included for stays of four nights or more.

Phoenix is approximately a one and a half hour drive to the ranch. There is a local shuttle bus company ('Arizona Shuttle'), which runs between Phoenix and Tucson and we can then arrange transfers for you from Twin Peaks (9633 N Tiffany Loop, Tucson). If you wish to ride on your first day, you should arrive at the ranch by 1pm for the ride safety briefing and the ride departing at 2:15pm.

Location

Set just outside Tucson in southern Arizona, one and a half hour's drive south of Phoenix.

Weather & Climate

High season is the warm, dry months of winter (November to March) when average maximum daily temperature ranges range from around 18°C to 25°C. Even in summer, the low humidity means that hot days are more comfortable than other places with similar temperatures. In mid summer (June to September), the average maximum daily temperatures are around the mid 30°C to early 40°C.
