Ride for around five to six hours each day, covering a distance of about 25km a day. You must be riding fit and confident and in control at a walk, trot and canter out in the open. The pace is dictated by the terrain and you may be required to dismount and lead your horse on foot at times. During the day there are some opportunities for trots and canters, however please do note that this is not a fast paced ride.
The horses are mostly Montenegrin Mountain Horses and are relatively small standing between 14.2hh to 15.2hh. They are ridden on a light contact and are good-natured, sure-footed and willing to please.
The riding style is English and the horses are ridden in trail saddles with snaffle bridles.
Hard hats are mandatory on these rides and you should take your own correctly fitted helmet. There are some standard sized body protectors to borrow should you wish.
You stay in a range of different accommodations including Bed and Breakfasts, bungalows, guest houses and small, round wooden houses. There are bathroom facilities on each night of the trail but these may be shared between more than one room. It is not possible to guarantee single rooms on every night and these are subject to availability.
You have the opportunity to taste true Montenegrin cuisine, with ingredients often sourced within a stone's-throw of where you are spending the night. The local residents, who you will meet throughout your stay, are incredibly proud of their food and the produce they grow.
Most dietary requests can be catered for with prior notice, however please do note that vegetarian alternatives are not always possible at each guesthouse and therefore can not be guaranteed.

Montenegro is a south European and a Mediterranean country. It is one of the most southern European states and faces the south part of the Adriatic Sea. Montenegro lies on the Balkan Peninsula.
Montenegro has a Mediterranean climate on the coast, with Alpine conditions in the mountains. From May through to September you can expect sunny days and warm temperatures. However do remember that there can be sporadic rain in the mountains.
This country offers some outstandingly beautiful views and this ride offers the opportunity to witness them first hand.
A friendly welcoming country that few people think to visit. You should also consider extending your stay in the walled town of Kotor beside the Adriatic Sea.
