Galiny Palace is a 16th century estate, set within 250 hectares of meadows and forests. The stud farm has over 70 horses and extensive stabling and training facilities.
Riders of all abilities are welcome at Galiny. Beginner and novice riders can have lessons in one of the many arenas, whilst more experienced riders can improve their skills in flatwork exercises and gridwork and jumping classes. At certain times of year, experienced riders may also be able to enjoy short hacks through the estate.
Aside from riding, there are many other activities to enjoy at Galiny. You may like to try a carriage ride, enjoy a stroll through the nearby forest and meadows, or hire a bicycle. There is plenty of wildlife in the forest from deer and wild boar to a multitude of birdlife, and this is an ideal place for photographers. There are well stocked ponds for those who wish to fish. Fishing for perch and trout is available all year round and if your fishing trip is successful, the chefs will prepare a special dinner for you with your very own catch.
There are also tennis courts, table tennis, football, boules, volleyball and basketball courts to enjoy. It is sometimes possible to arrange archery lessons. During the summer months you may like to cool down by taking a dip in one of the lakes, and massages can be arranged on site.
During the winter months when there may be snow, Nordic walking poles are available for use, cross country skiing equipment is also available, plus sledges, ice skates and winter sleigh rides too. Riding continues in the heated indoor school.
All levels of rider can be accepted at Galiny, and the riding programme is tailored to your experience and can include lessons in learning how to ride, flatwork instruction, show jumping gridwork and jumping lessons.
The riding programme includes two hours riding per night’s stay. Typically you can expect to have a maximum of four jumping lessons (optional) over a seven night stay.
If you would like to concentrate on your jumping technique, either by wanting to learn how to jump, gain confidence, or perhaps improve your style, there are two dedicated jumping packages (up to 60cm or up to 100cm) where you can have more jumping lessons during your stay. Typically over a seven night stay you can expect to have eleven jumping lessons and three flatwork lessons. In good weather, riders may also be able to have lessons over the cross-country jumps.
Additional hours can normally be added and paid for locally (subject to availability).
There are three outdoor all weather arenas, plus two indoor arenas. In October 2017 Galiny finished building a brand new indoor arena; a large purpose built facility heated up to 8°C during the winter months to provide comfort for both horse and riders during the colder months in Poland.
Children are welcome at Galiny. There are some ponies available for lead rein rides for those aged under six years old. Older children can have beginner lunge lessons on the horses from one of the instructors. More competent children will also be able to have instruction off the lead rein in one of the arenas.
The horses are mainly Trakehner, Holsteiner and Westphalian competition horses. Most range from 15hh so only competent teenagers will be able to ride out on the estate on hacks. There are carriage rides available, which children may enjoy accompanied by an adult, and also a ‘mini-carriage’ available for children too.
Hard hats are mandatory.
The accommodation is normally in the Grange, which is at the heart of activity at Galiny. If you prefer, it is possible to request a room in the Palace. Each room is equipped with television and free WiFi.
The Grange is situated at the heart of Galiny, just a stone’s throw from the stables and arenas. The restaurant and bar are central to the Grange, bringing guests together at all times of the day. Each room in the Grange is different; individually decorated in a rustic style, with exposed beams, heavy wooden doors and old-style bay windows with shutters. This is a great option if you wish to be in the middle of things and within easy access of all the main facilities Galiny offers. Your room will be within striking distance of the restaurant and bar areas.
A short three minute walk from the Grange, restaurant, bar and stables, are the Palace rooms, which are modelled according to court tradition: spacious and convenient, each characterised by its individual décor and colour scheme. The rooms in the Palace are situated in a quieter part of the estate away from the hustle and bustle of the stables and arenas, and surrounded by some beautiful mature gardens where you can sit and relax quietly.
Meals are very important at Galiny and you will be delighted with the culinary expertise of the chefs. All dishes are prepared with locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant and fully licensed bar is located in the Grange, the social hub of Galiny. You may like to sit in the garden to eat in the summer or near the open fire in the winter. There is also a gallery area with views across the courtyard.

Located on the border of Warmia and Masuria in eastern Poland Galiny is set amidst a 250 hectare estate of meadows and forests.
Poland has a temperate climate, with four distinct seasons. April and May are usually pleasant with cool mornings and nights and generally warm days. The summer months of June, July and August can be quite hot, with extended sunny days. Late September and October are usually dry and cool. December, January and February are quite often cold months, with the chance of snow.
Your stay at Galiny will be steeped in history. The estate has been lovingly renovated and is recognized as one of the best restored antique treasures of its kind in the country.
This is a beautiful place in which to relax and unwind. In the summer perhaps take a dip in the lake after a day in the saddle, or in the winter months curl up in front of a roaring fire in the Grange.
