Ride Report

Africa has a way of getting under your skin once you have visited for the first time and returning to visit Wait a Little in South Africa was no different! It certainly lived up to my expectations and more!

In the space of 7 nights I ticked off each and every member of Africa’s Big 5, plus countless other game and bird species. Trust me when I say that there’s not many places where you can do that easily within one week, especially whilst on horseback.

The vegetation at Wait A Little is thick, especially after the rains, which makes it difficult to see what’s around the corner and easy to bump into potentially dangerous game. Therefore the guides need to handle animal encounters far differently than other safaris where cantering away might be an option. The horses are beautifully schooled on this safari and are trained right from the start to be able to stand confidently in front of game such as elephant and lion.

Take a moment to read my blog of my visit.

On top of the wonderful horses and incredible game, Wait A Little camp itself is luxurious and the perfect base for a once in a lifetime adventure.  If you’d like to chat in further detail and discuss this safari, please don’t hesitate to contact me on +44 1299 272244.
