Ride Report
In June 2016 I visited Nine Quarter Circle Ranch. It was my first time to Montana and I was spending a few nights at various ranches.
The scenery hit me as soon as we were near West Yellowstone, dramatic snow capped mountains, twisting rivers and forests surrounded the winding road toward the ranch. On arrival I was shown to my wooden cabin which was lovely and cozy with it’s own little log burner for the cold evenings.
The riding at the ranch is flexible for all levels and there is a sign up sheet in the main dining hall where each night everyone signs up to the rides they’d like to do the following day. There are various rides throughout the week and usually a gymkhana at the weekend!
Rides are split by ability but even the faster rides aren’t very fast, they are usually up pretty steep mountain paths or through woodland. Having said that there are opportunities to lope and the odd small river crossing!
I would certainly recommend the ranch to groups of mixed ability, families and those looking for the scenery and wildlife associated with Yellowstone National Park.
