In June 2016 I took part in an exploratory ride to the relatively unexplored island of Greenland.

The Glaciers and Fjords itinerary is seven nights and staying in two different guesthouses. Both are simple, clean and comfortable with shared sleeping arrangements (mixture of twin/triple/quad rooms).

Our hosts for the week were a charming couple Piitaq and Naasu. Piitaq does most of the guiding along with a backup guide Ivik.

During the ride each person was responsible for taking care and tacking up there own horse – of course the guides were always on hand if needed. Due to the remoteness of the itinerary, it is important that riders are confident in different situations and able to act independently if needed.

This is the perfect ride for anyone looking to go ‘off grid’ for the week.
