The Accommodation
Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?
Rooms were a little basic, but perfectly comfortable, nice and quiet and peaceful. As a solo traveller I shared a cottage with another solo traveller- we had common areas but private bedroom and bathroom. It worked well.
Food is homemade Portuguese style - whilst there’s no choice, there was always something tasty on offer and we enjoyed guessing what it was! Breakfast is plentiful - you can fill up and potentially miss lunch. Meal time is shared with other guests so you get to know everyone - again great for a solo traveller as you don’t feel isolated.
Before Your Holiday
Did you have all of the information you needed to:
How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?
The branded document wallet is nice touch but I’m not sure I’ll use it again which seems a shame. The personal booklet had all the info I needed.
With the new entry/exit system for non EU, I had a long wait at Lisbon Airport to get through passport control which meant my taxi/ transit also had a long wait. Not much anyone could do about that though.
Do you have any other feedback for us?
Thanks for the recommendation, it ticked all the boxes and I had a very indulgent few days riding beautifully schooled Lusitano’s - heaven!
Carol who has been on 2 In The Saddle rides. Dressage indulgence! | The first lesson was a get to know you session, assess riding ability but also find out what kind of things I wanted to work on and a first try at some of those movements. We built on that in the following lessons with different horses who excelled at different things. Don’t be afraid to ask if there’s something you would like to try - e.g we worked on trot half pass and I asked to try canter half pass
