Atlantis and Green Island Trail - Azores

Meraney who has been on 24 In The Saddle rides. Great mix of riding and sightseeing on a beautiful green island | We had one day where the expected trip to the North of the island had to be substituted for a second trip local to the Quinta as the horse trailer was not available. This was a shame as we covered very similar ground and missed seeing another part of this very varied island. in general the riding was well thought through to give us something new to experience each day and to show off the variety of terrain on the island,

We sometimes went as a complete ride of eight guests which made instructions and speedy riding harder, especially on trails where people are inline and can't hear at the back. On the days when we split into 2 rides of 4 it was much better for all guests. They did their best to accommodate this where possible

Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?

Home cooking and eating as a group were much appreciated. Christina is a fab cook and catered well for everyone. Breakfast and also evening soups were especially delightful.

How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?

Still loving the booklet, it has everything we need to know and much easier to use than online info.

We really liked the good mix of riding and sightseeing. The staff went out of their way to make sure we all had a good time both riding and non riding and we saw more of this beautiful Island than we would have it we had chosen the Green island ride. Sadly we did not see any whales but did see plenty of dolphins, lakes, hot springs, botanic gardens, coastline and endless gorgeous hydrangeas

I was well matched with my horses, Kevin less so and although Christina encouraged us all to ask if we were not well matched it took him til near the end of the holiday to say something(!) but it got fixed on the last day with a fab horse and excellent ride for him.
