The Accommodation
Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?
I did not like my tent, but I slept outside under the sky every night, and that was spectacular!!
Food was surprisingly good and balanced (I am vegetarian) especially considered the nature of the holiday (fully disconnected from civilisation with packed horses carrying all food for the entire trip).
Before Your Holiday
Did you have all of the information you needed to:
How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?
I do not have any suggestion as I know I was an easy case, I knew I wanted to join the holiday so I simply asked for availability and paid.
Do you have any other feedback for us?
It was an outstanding holiday, and I can tell you I have been almost everywhere in the world on organized horse-riding holidays. It was a pure gem. Authentic, not a packaged holiday as they often can be. Is this for anyone? Absolutely not. Not because of the riding (which was not particularly challenging) but for the attitude. Only people who are adaptable, easy-going, prepared to live in the wild, sleeping rough in challenging (but not extreme) conditions, people who are motivated to help and collaborate, who do not mind the un-expected, the long hours of preparation and the long hours in general should go. Anyone else would not enjoy it and would ruin the holiday for others. I would recommend it 100% to a friend, but only to the right friend.
Daniela (this is their first In The Saddle holiday) Best horse-riding holiday in a long time (and I have done many)! | The owner deeply care about (and understand) her horses and animals in general. This was extremely appreciated.
The owner and her attitude to the holiday were 100% authentic. We felt like in a group of friends, which is not often the case in packaged holiday.
The small group, which at the beginning I assumed was an indication of lack of success, in fact it was a great value added. Only with a small group you could experience the wildness we experienced, more people would have disrupted the natural equilibrium and would have chased animals. It is a conscious decision of the owner to have small groups and rightly so (even if this means probably less economic gain for her). This is a very valuable info for future clients.
