Wild Coast - South Africa

Charlotte who has been on 7 In The Saddle rides. Wonderful ride along South Africa’s beautiful Wild Coast | Lovely horses and wonderful guides who were unfailingly friendly and helpful. The pace was fast, especially on the beaches. I had a lovely forward going little chestnut horse who I loved, but I found the constant jostling at the front with all the horses anticipating fast canters very tiring (my horse liked to be right behind the front horse!) and in addition I had a slightly different saddle from everyone else - less padding around the legs below the ‘bumnah’ so it took a bit of getting used to. On the 5th day I swapped onto a bigger horse at the rear of the ride for a couple of days. He was a bit like a steady armchair (!) but still a real pleasure to ride. I swapped back onto my first horse for the last day. I was very grateful to Tertia and Jess for being so accommodating and helpful about this and I really enjoyed riding both horses. The trail itself and the experience of riding it were fantastic.

All good - no problems at all.

I think it is always very good indeed - especially the printed itinerary which I really appreciate

I thought the hosts (Julie-Anne at Kei Mouth) and guides (Tertia and Jess, Nicky and colleagues at the yard) were exceptionally good - really fantastic how they looked after us.
