Debbie who has been on 17 In The Saddle rides. Spectacular Riding With The Granddaughters | I have been multiple times to Ol Donyo Lodge so knew roughly what to expect, however, I have never taken my two granddaughters before (aged 12 and 14). We all live on Guernsey so long canters, let alone a gallop, are tricky to say the least. I was nervous about the responsibility but needn't have been. Coral, the stable manager, was everything and more. She gave the girls confidence and encouraged them, for the first few days, to ride different horses that she suggested for them individually. She was able to recognise the girls' personalities and match them to compatible horses - I was very impressed. Especially as she applied her skills to me as well! By day four they were galloping - a first for one of them and had smiles wrapped around the back of their heads.

Do you have any other feedback for us?

I have been multiple times to the Lodge since 2006 and there is a very good reason for that. Riding on the plains of the Chyulu Hills, on happy healthy horses takes an awful lot of beating, and the staff can not do enough for you.
