Kate and Sarah who has been on 2 In The Saddle rides. Epic Horse Riding Adventure | The horses were amazing. Really responsive, well behaved, foward going, fast walking and sure footed on the mountainous terrain. They all had their own characters and Vasco and the team matched them well to the riders. We were really happy with our two mountain horses (Stavre and Arap). They may have been a different style to what we were used to at home but were an absolute delight to ride all week. We were amazed by the horses capacity to ride up and down mountains and gallop across the pastures with great enthusiasm. The riding exceeded our expectations. Really varied. We enjoyed the technical element of the mountainous ascents and descents and the opportunity to gallop freely was incredibly exhilarating. Getting up and riding the horses to see the sunrise at the top of the mountain was a huge hight and end tothe week.
The Sherpa riding team were fantastic. Vasco gave briefings before every ride and made sure everyone was confident and happy with the riding as the the challenge and speed increased.

Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?

Accomodation was of a really good standard. The guest houses we stayed in were friendly, comfortable, clean and in great locations. They were also varied and had their own character. The two camp nights were incredible. The camp itself was well organised with a large changing tent for bags and separate tents to sleep in with comfortable mattresses and warm sleeping bags.
The locations for the camps were stunning and riding into our camps is a memory we will never forget. We enjoyed the wine tasting and gin tasting provided for us. Facilitated by passionate local entrepreneurs. Interesting and really good fun for the group.
The food was outstanding and we cannot express enough what an unexpected , added bonus this was. Everyday our Chef Alex prepared 3 meals to an expectionally high standard showing off local ingredients and produce. We enjoyed sitting together at a white linen table in different stunning locations. We also enjoyed alot of cheese - a highlight was tasting the fresh sheeps cheese made in front of us by the farmer - what an experience!

How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?

We don't believe there is anything that could be improved. Lucy has been fantastic. Really helpful and responsive to all our questions. This is our second In the Saddle Holiday and we were really well prepared for both. Packing list, itinarary is very comprehensive and there is always someone on the end of the phone. It was really good that we were able to find out that protectors would be provided instead of us having to pack these.
