Estancia Los Potreros - Argentina

Eleanor (this is their first In The Saddle holiday) This was my first riding holiday, so first time riding “holiday” horses. Enjoyed some wonderful gallopes with the gauchos - I rode over 10 different horses across the week, all were wonderfully looked after, safe and sure footed. The pasos were fabulously comfortable, the criollos made light work of the hilly terrain. I would have preferred some slightly livelier horses but appreciate this is a function of a holiday place. We did some cattle work which was fun. I expected to be able to do some polo or mounted games but this was not offered as the ground was too hard - this was understandable but was not clear when I booked. I may return for a polo week in future!

Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?

Excellent WiFi in the bedrooms. Loved the mix of opportunities to socialise but also to decompress. Fabulous food. Could have had more variety at breakfasts but the lunches and dinners more than made up for it. Wonderful wine (including a tasting!). I thought we’d be doing a cooking class but that didn’t happen. I think the flexibility in the scheduling comes from not having set arrival days, which is fine, but I thought I’d get it all with being there a full week. Ah well, fabulous nonetheless!
