The Accommodation
Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?
Food was very good, local, bio products only. Good mix of traditional meals and Macedonian fusion food, including fresh fisch, deer, wild boar. Loads of vegetables and fruit.
wine was served for the lunches on the trail, dinner had only bottled water, which was absolutely fine for us, but a little surprise.
Camping nights were super comfortable - thick air mattresses on sheepskin flooring, air pillows, thick sleeping bags and freshly washed fleece liners.
Overnights in small hotels were rather rustic and simple, but clean.
Before Your Holiday
Did you have all of the information you needed to:
How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?
I couldn’t get details on the camping equipment that was provided, so I brought own equipment which I didn’t use.
‘Toilet tent’ while camping made me think ‘chemical lol’, but it was just a tented whole in the ground.
Other that stated, we were not asked to help prepping the horses, set up tents, or cook at camp. Was all done for us by the outstanding crew!
Do you have any other feedback for us?
Well organized, team tried to cater for all wishes. Time flew, well organized programm with many extras like spa, gin and wine tasting, learning about Myiak tribe, traditional cheese making and shepherds life in our days.
Svenja who has been on 3 In The Saddle rides. One week is too short | Very nice riding, we were perfectly matched with a 3-step matching process (review of what we had requested through ITS, interview during the briefing, and very short assessment in saddle to confirm matches before the trail started).
There was loads of walking, some technical parts, lots of climbing, no trotting, more short gallops and canters, longest was about 2 minutes. Canters in line, 2x2, or racing.
3 hand walking passages, 2 of them about 30 minutes, steep downhill/ rocky paths.
Did meet our expectations regarding long hours in the saddle and speedy gallops.
Horses were groomed and tacked for us.
3 guides even for a small group of 8. Very competent horsemen and -woman.
