The Riding
The Accommodation
Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?
This is not a "Glamping " holiday so be prepared for the basic tent accommodation although I rather enjoyed turning feral for a week. What more do you really need but a bed to sleep on and a warm bucket shower and the hum of crickets to sooth you to sleep.
Being the "rainy" season we did get drenched on a couple of occasions so I would definitely recommend you take spare jodhpurs and if weight allows a second pair of riding boots. The outbreaks of sunshine soon had us dried out and spirits were soon lifted with the various sightings of beautiful birds and wildlife.
The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful - amazing what can be achieved in a "bush" kitchen. The staff are super friendly and helpful and a lot of tears where shed when it was time to say goodbye.
Before Your Holiday
Did you have all of the information you needed to:
How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?
During rainy season addition jodhpurs and boots would be useful.
How could we improve the way we handled your booking and payment?
As ever In The Saddle gave all the help and information required. I wouldn't travel with anyone else.
Thank you to Abbie especially 🙂
Alison who has been on 6 In The Saddle rides. Wow - An amazing African Adventure! | It's hard to describe the vastness and beauty of the Serengeti but it is absolutely stunning. Grass planes, wooded glades and endless horizons, with thousands of wildebeest and zebra as far as the eye can see. Tara and Benji were the perfect hosts and made sure everyone was having a good time. The riding is fast paced and you require a good level of fitness for some of the longer canters. The horses were really well cared for and you could see the grooms loved the horses and made sure they where in top condition. I was paired with the perfect princess pony "Zenzi" who was a pocket rocket and great fun to ride. I would definitely recommend this trip of a life time.
[Abbie from ITS replies: It is wonderful to hear about your time in Tanzania. We are so pleased that you had such a great experience].
