Ant's Lodges - South Africa

Lorna who has been on 6 In The Saddle rides. Fabulous, amazing experience | This certainly met our expectations, being our second visit to Ants Safaris, we stayed at the Hill, and were just as happy following our visit to Ants Nest 6 years ago. I am an experienced rider, my husband not, but the horses were matched to our abilities, splitting off for some fabulous fun fast riding, then meeting up with the less experienced riders so everyone was happy. The guide are all excellent, knowledgeable, friendly and professional and did everything they could to ensure we enjoyed the riding, allowing time to take photos too.
Sundowns were fantastic visiting different locations each day.

Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?

The food was excellent, delicious and freshly cooked.

A few minor observations regarding the room - Eagles nest - whilst it was very clean and stylish there were a few potential trip hazards such as a large rock step on entering the bath and no mat so a bit slippery and rugs slipped on the floor . The overall lighting was poor with just a few spot lamps so it was difficult to see when dark. Blackout curtains would help light sleepers too as they were very thin.
That said it had a fantastic view from the private balcony.

Do you have any other feedback for us?

We had a wonderful time at Ants - we got involved in the game captures both on horseback and on foot which was a fantastic experience. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there again.
