Chianti Castles and Wine Tasting - Italy

Deborah who has been on 9 In The Saddle rides. Chianti castles and wine tasting | The horses were without exception very well cared for, fit and well suited to their role. Our type of horse preferences were accommodated well.
The riding was less varied in pace than expected / hoped for. That said we covered a lot of ground and saw loads.
Some of the saddles were not comfortable- high pommels - my padded pants made a big difference so would recommend.

Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?

I was lucky enough to be in the annex so had extra privacy which I appreciated. The rooms all seemed to be roomy with plenty of storage.
Bed comfortable, shower small but fine - good rural accommodation
Was lovely to hear horses and birds in the morning - right up my street

Food was good healthy local fare that was really tasty and really fresh, using mostly only food that is in season. A good showcase.

How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?

We were late for our pick up as there was a train issue with several, including our train from Florence being cancelled / delayed.

We had left it to the last train as advised nothing to do in Montevarchi - however it seems there are cafes etc so maybe we should have aimed to get their earlier - that said had a great lunch in Florence!

This holiday is a great way to see the area from horseback, the scenery is stunning. The wine tasting is super too. The trip to Siena as good as expected, Montepulciano an unexpected treat.
