Esther who has been on 2 In The Saddle rides. Most amazing riding experience | This is not an easy ride with long hours in the saddle, demanding terrain and at times unpredictable weather. But it is truly worth it. There are very few opportunities out there to really let go, to gallop across plains, up mountains on safe, exciting, sure footed horses. It was an exhilarating experience.

Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?

Unfortunately Macedonia does not have the standard of tourism akin to elsewhere in Europe. Some of the hotels we stayed in were not very clean and lacked some basic necessities like bath mats and hand towels. At one hotel the electricity/lights could not be turned off so the solution was to disconnect the electrical supply. You therefore have to be flexible, take everything on the chin, smile and thankfully I was too exhausted most evenings to care about these small details. The camping experience was however good and the campsite was clean, tents set up nicely and we were made as comfortable as could be.

How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?

Some details of the itinerary had changed. This didint bother me as we were fully briefed beforehand but something that could be improved on in the future.

I cannot emphasise how amazing this holiday was. It was such a unique experience to have the opportunity to learn so much of the Miyak history and to experience it ourselves combined with excellent riding. Vasko and team were amazing. Their hospitality and kindness was touching. Nothing was ever too much and they were really generous. The food was exceptional as well. The horses were very well trained and I felt safe at all times. They took a lot of effort to brief us each day and to listen to us about our riding experience and preferences to ensure that we were matched as best as we could be.
