Lesley who has been on 10 In The Saddle rides. Crete - fabulous week with the right balance of riding and holiday | Our guide, despite only having been in post 3 weeks was very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs. The scenery was spectacular, even some snow on the highest peaks. The tracks were mainly very stony and hard with frequent patches of concrete which could be very slippery but the horses were very sure footed. I have to say most of the places we cantered I would never have dreamed of cantering on but the horses are obviously used to it.

The accommodation was lovely, clean towels daily, a real treat. There was on occasion problems with hot water, had a couple of very luke warm showers during week.
(IN THE SADDLE: We have discussed this problem with the ride operator. The hotel rooms and water are heated with solar energy and if it is a cloudy day there is a back up system which provides unlimited hot water. Unfortunately for a short time in April the back up system was unavailable but this has now been fully resolved.)

The layout of the grounds had been done with a lot of care and attention to detail. We managed to sit in a lovely covered seating area very high up with fabulous views every evening before our meal to enjoy our g and t's.
Food was delicious. Staff very friendly.
