The Accommodation
Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?
The accommodation was lovely - I was lucky enough to have an entire house to myself. Georgia even arranged for bath salts to be left in my room so I could have a soak in the bath. I was well catered for as a vegetarian - nothing was too much trouble and the food was healthy and delicious. The hosting by Kevin, Georgia and the guides each evening was excellent - we enjoyed each other's conversation, accompanied by nice wines. I celebrated my 50th birthday there and they made it really special, with an Asado, birthday cake and gifts shared. I felt extremely well looked after and very relaxed during the whole stay. I haven't slept as well as I did at the estancia for about a year! I took a digital detox whilst there - not having wifi in your room is a huge plus - there really is a culture of not being on your phone unless taking photos - you realise just how much you need to take a break from the outer world - if TV and constant internet access is important to you then this is not the place for you. If you are looking for an amazing experience with great people, superb horses and beautiful scenery then I cannot think of anywhere better to be. I genuinely did not want to leave!
Before Your Holiday
Did you have all of the information you needed to:
How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?
I was thoroughly impressed with the service from In the Saddle. Having re-arranged my holiday twice due to the pandemic, the advice and support they provided was excellent. The communication throughout was great and the little touches such as phoning to check I was OK with all of the pre-travel requirements was thoughtful and appreciated. All information provided was accurate and provided in a timely fashion.
How could we improve the way we handled your booking and payment?
Booking online was easy, as was payment.
Do you have any other feedback for us?
My holiday at Los Potreros was OUTSTANDING on every level. I loved every minute and have memories to last a lifetime. I am hoping to return later in the year once I have negotiated some more time off work! I cannot recommend this experience highly enough. Kevin and the team did an amazing job - huge fan and I will definitely be back!
Joanna who has been on 4 In The Saddle rides. Los Potreros Argentina - out of this world - eat, ride, sleep, repeat! | The riding at the estancia is absolutely superb. The terrain is hilly and rocky and the horses are incredibly sure-footed, managing the rocks like mountain goats. They are beautifully calm and well trained, yet forward going and fun to ride, all absolute sweethearts! I really enjoyed riding the Peruvian Pasos with their extra gait, the Paso, which is so comfortable to ride. We rode out twice a day, in the morning at around 10:00 returning for lunch at the estancia followed by a siesta and then a late afternoon ride after afternoon tea. I rode at every given opportunity and maxed out the opportunity. Bringing the foals in off the hills in the evening was a highlight. We also rounded up the brood mares for pregnancy testing. A real highlight was herding the cattle to the cattle station which was so much fun, channelling our "inner gaucho". A few of the later afternoon rides were "sun downer" rides - a special gin and tonic stop on the eve of my birthday (complete with ice and lemon) was incredibly special, as was the moonlight ride under the full moon for "Rose on the Rocks. The gauchos were amazing as were our three guides, Kim, Milly and Niek who were incredibly attentive, ensuring we were always safe and well cared for as well as fun.
