Shine Valley - Yukon

Pack Trip

4 star rating   25 June 2022

Amanda who has been on 3 In The Saddle rides. Great experience | Unfortunately, due to late snow melt in the mountains we were unable to do the full ride as one of the rivers was flowing to full and fast to cross and the snow in the final mountain passes were too deep. This also led to the terrain being much wetter than normal. The guides did a great job of providing a interesting riding experience taking us on different trails to get back to the base camp.

The food was excellent far beyond what I expected them to be able to provide cooking over a campfire.

Before Your Holiday

Did you have all of the information you needed to:

Feel comfortable about your transfers and what to expect?

How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?

Pre-ride info was generally very good however it was colder than I expected for June based on the climate info on the website. The mosquitos were awful and UK repellent did not work so its probably better to buy really good stuff in Whitehorse.

Do you have any other feedback for us?

I wore my normal riding tights and chaps whilst this wasn't a problem for riding through the willow the mosquitos did bite through them - I would suggest that riding jean / thick riding trousers would be a better option.
