Nile Explorer - Uganda

Nile Explorer

5 star rating   8 September 2019

Sue who has been on 4 In The Saddle rides. The Best Holiday EVER! | The riding far surpassed all expectations....! The write up did not give it justice. When we came to decide which riding holiday to book the “selling point” for Uganda was the Gorillas not the riding - how wrong we were!!

I’m so glad that we picked this holiday as Uganda is an amazing place. Natalie and TJ are truly the best hosts that you could wish for, their horses are spectacular and the places that you visit and stay at are breathless! Riding through the local villages and the welcome that you received along the way (especially from the children!) was something that I will never forget.

The gorilla experience was unbelievable too - you were closer than you could ever imagine! Appreciating the conservation programme and meeting the people in the local community was fascinating.

This is a MUST DO holiday 🙂

How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?

Everything with Natalie & TJ was included. The write up inferred that we would need to pay for drinks/snacks outside meal times.

The suggested tips for the Gorilla tracking part of the holiday excluded reference to the drivers whom picked us up from Kihihi and drove us everywhere (we were prepared for the porters, guides & rangers)

MasterCard was accepted everywhere we went (write up says different)

[Lucy from In The Saddle replied: Thank you for letting us know that Mastercard is now accepted, we have updated our money and tipping guidance notes]

How could we improve the way we handled your booking and payment?

Do you have any other feedback for us?

Please look at the write up for this holiday.... As I said above, the Gorillas were the selling point when we booked it as the riding sounded mediocre. This is soooooo not the case! I went to Botswana (Best of Botswana via African Horse Safaris) last year and Uganda totally trumped that.
