Old Mulberry - Croatia

Much bolder than we'd do in England: cantering over really boggy land with mud in your face and clothes; galloping up steep hills - well, I guess a bit like hunting (which I've never done). Quite thrilling in places.
We'd have done more if some in the group had not been so cautious, but it was well-adapted to suit us all - as long as you don't mind staying in line.

Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?

Rooms spartan but adequate. Needs more hanging possibilities for two in a double room - even hooks, especially in the bathroom, would have helped. Good communal space.

Food was plentiful - but not good for vegetarians (except for breakfasts). Pasta or rice repeatedly for vegetarians. I didn't mind, not meant to be a gourmet experience and local vegetables weren't yet available in early Spring. Breakfasts were good: eggs cooked to order. I'm happy with Turkish coffee.

The hosts were attentive and Misho's guided tour of the anti-Fascist monument, to which he has the key, is a really interesting bonus.

Saffi, who leads the rides, is a bundle of good humour and teasing. Dominic, who'll do some of it, is lovely.

I also think it's a good value holiday (especially with the early booking discount we obtained).
