The Accommodation
Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?
The guesthouse in Kei Mouth is simple but ever so welcoming. You feel like you’re at home rather than staying in rented accommodation. Beds are comfortable and rooms are large. Food is really tasty home-cooked fare. Fresh fish caught that day, home-made salads accompanied by beer or wine.

I’ve been on many riding holidays but this one happened to be my honeymoon as well. The team at Wild Coast Riding made it an unforgettable experience. Galloping along deserted beaches, lunches with a view of the sea, river crossings, drinks at sunset...We couldn’t have wished for more. What made it really special was the fantastic team of women who run the place. The guides not only are knowledgeable about the horses and the wildlife and landscapd but also fun and a pleasure to be around. The cook spoiled us and Julie-Anne’s horses were exhilarating to ride. We’re planning on going back to do trail ride in a couple of years.
Vanessa who has been on 5 In The Saddle rides. Wild Coast | I rode five different horses during the Kei Mouth Trail and all of them were extremely fit, incredibly sure-footed and very willing. They scrambled over rocks and canter over hills and gallop on the beaches beautifully. It was very hard to pick a favourite as they were all so good. The deserted beaches are perfect for long canters and gallops but I also enjoyed cantering up and down hills inland. Credit to team for keeping 40+ horse in such top condition!
