Transhumance - Spain

Transhumance North Ride

5 star rating   10 June 2018

Erik who has been on 6 In The Saddle rides. Spain - Tranhumance Trail | Extremely varied terrain from the wide expanses to the mountains at the altitude of 1324 meters.
A lot of the ride takes place at walk, but where the terrain allowed it, we rode many good canters. In total we covered about 190 km and approx. 38 hours in the saddle.

Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?

The breakfast and the late evening meals, I rate between "satisfied" and "neutral", which is my normal rate for food in Spain, but Mamens tapas and picnic gets a clean "very satisfied" For the Paella, the hosts took us to a restaurant, as Mamen where in much distance to the base and therefore did not have the opportunity to prepare this dish.
The accommodation was nice - clean and tidy at all accommodations. One night we stayed at one of the famous Paradores, a castle that has served as a hotel since 1928.

Emilio and Mamen made a great effort to give the group a really good riding experience.
