Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?

The accommodation and food were both memorable. It really is luxurious and comfortable. It's magical moving from one interesting accommodation to the next. Some of the places to stay were on the beach or a short walk or run from the beach. When the guide asked what the best food was, all one could do was recount the best food from each day.

The birdlife was just great. We saw a dozen owls the first day. There were flamingos, and ostrich-like birds, and hummingbirds. I'd recommend bringing binoculars. Sounds of birds and frogs were great. Some of the best sunsets and sunrises I've ever seen.

Mid-March was a perfect time to travel: the tourists had departed the tourist towns, but the water was warmer than California and the temperatures around 80°F. Some of the beaches were good for swimming -- wide and shallow going out.

A foal was born the night before our second day of riding; later, at the estancia, I watched a foal take one of its first canters.

You could see the sea lions with fish in their mouths, swimming in the ocean, waves splashing on rocks.

Travelling along dunes to places inaccessible by cars was great, too.

Gaucho riding is fun. We chased the cows into the corner to count them, but then they jumped the fences and we had to chase em.

Bombachas are the greatest riding trousers I've ever had. I wish I'd brought more than two home. And I'm wearing them to the office, too.

It's comfortable, relaxing, and fun. There's never a sense of sameness, always a new surprise and pleasure each day.
