Very nice and intensive lessons. Really fantastic and beautiful horses. It is important to have full control of the English terms for riding, because the teachers speak with Portuguese accent and misunderstandings can arise - even when it's only a letter in the pronunciation.
If you do not have the experience of riding Lusitanos, then you may feel that you can not ride it at all after the first lesson, but do not worry about it, you will leave as a better rider.
The horse is tacked and ready for the lesson (at the agreed time) and you do not have to tack, wash or brush your horse yourself. Just ride and enjoy it. Super nice indoor riding hall and covered outdoor arena (20x60) are soon done.

(ITS NOTE: We understand that the new outdoor arena will be completed in 2018).

The lessons takes place with a headset on. It usually worked very well.
Instructors: The warm up takes place with the instruction from a younger but very pleasant instructor in the first half hour after which Pedro takes over. So you ride two at a time in the arena.
Lessons is always done indoors (suppose that it will also be outdoors when the covered arena is completed)

Important! You get much more out of the lessons if you have the opportunity to be filmed. It's works enough with the mobile phone.

For next time - for there will be a next time - I will book two hours lessons a day.

(ITS NOTE: We are really pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Quinta do Rol. Thank you for your detailed comments.)

Do you have any comments about the accommodation and food?

Great breakfast just after my taste. The food is very simple Portuguese food, so the description fits. Wine can be bought and tastes wonderful. It is recommended to buy a some cheeses, if you can not live without several different kinds of cheeses (yes, I probably do like cheese more than the most). Great opportunity to cook yourself if you feel like it. There is also a small snack before dinner.
And so I'm also looking forward to the Fibernet to be coming soon (within the next six months - then I have not promised too much).

Before Your Holiday

Did you have all of the information you needed to:

How could we improve the quality of pre-holiday information that we send?

It's nice to know that you do not have to tack your horse yourself, especially if you think it's a very important part of being on a riding holiday. On my personal view , I loved that the horse was ready for me.
Very important to indicate that you ONLY rides with double bridle. No problem for me, but a few of the other guests wasn't aware of this (not booked through Rid & Rejs, though) and had never tried it before. It went well for them anyway, because this is just the place to learn it.

(ITS NOTE: The horses at Quinta do Rol are ridden in double bridles. The exception being younger horses who are not yet ready for doubles).

Do you have any other feedback for us?

Wildfire in the forest or not. It was a great experience. And Rita and Carlos are very attentive hosts.
It was nice to be picked up by Teresa at the airport, but it is also advisable to rent a car and drive yourself.
