Mandy who has been on 2 In The Saddle rides. Horse heaven! | They went above and beyond the trainers all 3 of them. They start you off on a sensible quieter Lutsatana (who knew all the high class work) to assess your riding ability. They can cater for beginners to advanced. They give you more and more sensitive horses each day, they are willing supple and each one taught me something else. I was lucky enough to have the most most stunning 7 yr old Neron (grey Lutsatana) who I fell in love with they kindly let me ride him 3 times in my 6 lessons. I was lucky enough to watch them training the youngsters, they love all there horse they are immaculately turned out and tacked up for you (gorgeous saddle and interesting plastic Pelham bits with one or two reins). I have already been transferring what was taught to my own advanced dressage horse, it worked rather well this morning riding him. I thoroughly recommend this holiday.

The horses are (almost too) easy to ride, very well behaved, very responsive, and offer the more advanced movements willingly. All 3 instructors were cheerful, helpful, informative, and helped me make huge progress.

I like fresh horses, don't want to have to push forward all the time. So I got two 6-year-old, lovely horses, sensitive and forwardgoing - it was great!

My 16 year old daughter, Lucie, rode 5 different horses throughout the week and was primarily taught by Jòao whom, like all the instructors, was incredibly passionate and knowledgeable, instilling such confidence and belief in Lucie to ride more advanced movements eg, piaffe, passage, half passs and one time changes. Nothing was a bother, the instructors and grooms constantly striving to give Lucie the best experience ever in a really fun way. She has learnt so much in a week.

The grooms were kind and the horses were so well taken care of. Even the dogs were a joy. Quinta do Rol met all my expections and more. I look forward to a return visit.

Right from the first lesson I was put at ease and Miguel and Joao matched me with the suitable horses for my level. They both pushed me out of my comfort zone and made me have the confidence to give it all a go and do movements that I had dreamed about doing ! All of the horses are well cared for and are very well trained!

All the riding facilities and care for the horses are exemplary, and also extremely relaxing for the rider. Everything about the yard works really well - including the adorable, friendly Jack Russell dogs who make one feel at home! I really enjoyed watching fellow riders’ lessons from the glamorous and comfortable viewing lounge/bar. The instructors are brilliant and intuitively gauge how to get the best from each rider. I will definitely return.

Amelie who has been on 2 In The Saddle rides. Fantastic dressage training on Lusitano horses | The trip was absolutely incredible. It was everything I’ve always hoped for in riding and haven’t been able to find before. Riding Lusitano horses has been a revelation for me. They are everything I’ve always dreamt for in a horse, forward and ultra-responsive while being quiet and safe, super smart, perfect size for me and a lovely temperament. Perfect schoolmasters! All the horses I rode were amazing and they all taught me something different. All three trainers were really great too, again teaching me different things and constantly pushing me to improve. I got to ride piaffe, passage, Spanish walk, flying changes and one-tempis for the first time, which was incredible and a lot more than I ever expected I’d be able to do!

I was lucky enough to ride experienced advanced horses and also some not used in the school much yet due to the stage of their education so great variety.
We were not asked about if we wanted to do anything other than lessons. When we did ask for a hack it was soon accommodated and one of us wanted an inhand lesson which they quickly organised too
We couldn’t use the gym as used as storage and we were told couldn’t use the pool either.

Sabrina (this is their first In The Saddle holiday) Unforgettable | The facilities at the riding centre are top notch: Viewing area, covered 20 X 40 arena, stables, lockers. The trainers Miguel and Rui are amazing and well knowledgeable trainers. The Lusitano horses are beautiful, well cared for and well trained. Such a pleasure to ride them.

Camilla who has been on 3 In The Saddle rides. Now the focus was dressage, so riding in terrain was slow and calm maybe a little too quiet, but good for the horses. I have been extremely satisfied with the entire process! from the high service from Rid & Rejs to the absolutely fantastic surroundings, high service, friendliness and helpfulness and especially the highly trained horses and good instructors on the place.
I absolutely cannot recommend it enough. and I will definitely return to the same location and will use Rid & Rejs again.

Jennifer who has been on 7 In The Saddle rides. Exceeded expectations! | Overall I had a great riding experience and Quinta do Rol has exceeded my expectations. The instruction was excellent with their highly trained horses. I felt safe and relaxed knowing I'm in capable hands as a novice rider.

ALL the horses were special and performed to a top level. It's nearly impossible to pick a favourite. As soon as you set foot in their stables it's quite obvious that the horses are treated and cared for to a high standard.

I also appreciated their attention to detail -- from the comfortable viewing area where you can watch others ride, the clean and modern facilities both for humans and horses, even a kit to clean your boots was provided in the stables. The instructors and grooms were all genuinely nice and friendly making it a very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for everyone.

Graham who has been on 9 In The Saddle rides. A really great holiday | I arrived quite late due to delays but the owner was there to greet me and a dinner was also waiting for me.
The horses are lovely and instruction is really good, I liked the one to one as I'm used to that at home.
I have learnt a lot. The horses are well trained and consequently have more "Buttons" to press.
I found my leg position had to be more precise to get the correct movements, which was good to know and take home with me.
I rode one lesson through storm Babet in the huge covered outdoor school & although the rain was monsoon we stayed dry, the horse was totally unfazed by the wind and rain.
I rode five horses & loved them all each one a little different. The horses are well looked after and tack is very good . Each instructor brought something new to the lessons.
My fellow guest were all friendly & I enjoyed watching & talking about our lessons with them.
I had a lovely time and would definitely recommend Quinta do Rol.

Susan who has been on 6 In The Saddle rides. Fabulous from start to finish! | The horses were fantastic. I felt humbled by their grace and willingness. I'm quite novice in dressage riding and don't have my own horse or compete at home. I learnt more at Quinta do Rol in 4 days then I have in a year at home - the horses really helped me develop my feel for lateral work and my riding generally.

The instructors were brilliant. Absolutely passionate about the lesson and making sure you improve but have fun along the way. I really felt they believed in me and gave me a lot of confidence, with honest feedback. I wish I could bring them (& the horses of course) back to the UK with me!

The facilities are the best I have ever seen. The indoor school is stunning with a really comfortable riders lounge over looking the arena. It was difficult to choose between the indoor and the enormous outdoor school surrounded by glorious farm countryside. The horses have better facilities than a lot of hotels for humans! All the staff I saw treated the horses with great care, respect and a lot of love which created a wonderful calm ambiance.

Rachael who has been on 6 In The Saddle rides. Fantastic - it has re-inspired me | This trip exceeded expectations. The instructors were all very knowledgeable and the horses beautifully trained. We worked on my weak areas, improved on the basics and tried out some of the fun flashy movements.
The holiday has given me motivation to take what i have learnt back home to try and apply on my own horse. I feel totally re-inspired now i can see my weaknesses and know how to correct them, and i can now also feel and understand the correct way to ask for things as the horses are so well trained and sensitive to commands.
