Even though i did the holiday 8 years ago it was different and the same at the same time. I really enjoyed every moment of the trip and would recommend it to others. The guiding was great, the food a little too good as i put on some weight! and the horses were all very well cared for, well trained and perfect for the riding. I couldn't have been happier with the holiday.

The rooms were nice and the ladies in the kitchen was very sweet. Beautiful place in a peaceful location. The riding was mainly walk, with short trot/canter now and then, just as described.

A perfect mix combining centre based riding with a private villa vibe | It was a very hot week so we were glad to ride early and finish early with time for a swim and a siesta before exploring a corner of Tuscany we had not seen before. The horses were fit, well schooled and well cared for. Donatella took care to match us all with suitable horses that we liked and offered us the opportunity to try different horses during the week if we wanted to.
The riding itself was in the surrounding hills and was all on tracks and paths with some steep up and down sections affording beautiful vistas of old castles, vineyards and olive groves. There were opportunities for trots and short canters but the pace was mainly walk and we were in single file due to the terrain.

The horses are very well cared for and the scenery is stunning.

Lovely holiday in beautiful Tuscan countryside. | The riding is very much single file, which we had been expecting but it was very strictly managed so it was difficult to chat to the other riders even where the paths were wide enough. Having said that, the scenery was so beautiful it was lovely to take in the views and enjoy the sightseeing.

There were some lovely canters but there were also many occasions when we walked where it would have been nice to go a little faster.

Overall, this was a relaxing holiday, riding through stunning scenery with impressive locations for wine tasting.

I was very happy with the horses, two of which were perfect for me and Donatella was happy for me to alternate them throughout the week.

Donna who has been on 40 In The Saddle rides. Chianti and castles italy | The riding was exactly as described in the itinerary. You rode one behind the other at a variety of paces with plenty of short canters. The horses were well cared for and Donatella and Sadio were excellent guides who wanted to share the love of their country with you.

Deborah who has been on 8 In The Saddle rides. Chianti castles and wine tasting | The horses were without exception very well cared for, fit and well suited to their role. Our type of horse preferences were accommodated well.
The riding was less varied in pace than expected / hoped for. That said we covered a lot of ground and saw loads.
Some of the saddles were not comfortable- high pommels - my padded pants made a big difference so would recommend.

Debbie who has been on 7 In The Saddle rides. Just a perfect week in Tuscany | My husband and I each rode 3 different horses during the week. Without exception they were all very well schooled, light and responsive to the aids and fit enough for the long days out. They all coped exceptionally well with the, sometimes, steep and stoney gradients.
Sadio and Donatella do a fantastic job of choosing suitable horses and they are some of the best cared for horses I have ever ridden on riding holidays.

Wow | Wow this holiday was amazing, Donnatella is an amazing horse woman, the horses are forward going, sensible so nice to ride, I rode 3 all perfect, the riding is very good plenty of trots and canters more than we hoped for. Our group of 5 were great we all got on so well. Donna is very safety conscious which is good, staying in line was perfect for us it's what you should do for safety, the food is outstanding, all fresh produce, very tasty and plenty of it. The picnics on full rides are just out of this world so much food. Tuscany is a beautiful place both Donna and Sadio know so much about the area and happy to share the knowledge they have with you, we had wine tastings, saw castles, beautiful areas and a trip to Sienna. Nothing is too much trouble for Donna and Sadio they go out of their way to make your holiday one you will never forget, they helped me so much with dismounting, all I can say is I would recommend this holiday 100 per cent and wish I was doing it again tomorrow.

Wendy who has been on 7 In The Saddle rides. Fantastic riding ,horses and locality | The horses are all very well cared for and the stable area is very clean and tidy . All the tack and saddles were in good condition.
The horses are all strong and forward going and there are horses to suit different types of rider . I rode 4 different horses throughout the week and all were a pleasure to ride .
Each day there are lots of opportunities for short and long canters and short and long trots . The area where we rode is stunningly beautiful with rolling hills , typical Tuscan houses , castles and fields of vin yards.
It is a fantastic place to ride and particularly so in May as everywhere is green and there are beautiful flowers in bloom .

Kathryn who has been on 5 In The Saddle rides. Chianti Castles & Wine Tasting | The horses were good quality, very fit and extremely well looked after. As an experienced rider it can be a bit frustrating to have to ride in single file all the time but I do understand from a safety perspective why this is done. The landscape was very hilly and the horses managed this very well. I mostly rode a fantastic horse that was actually the owners daughter's eventer so I feel privileged to have been able to use him.

One thing we would say is that participants need to be riding fit as some of the rides are long and terrain can sometimes be challenging.

Chianti castles and wine tasting | The riding was beautiful and horses brilliant the whole day rides were 4 and half hours without a stop then a further 3 which i found too much . Also in the rides your were only allowed to ride one behind the other which I did not enjoy very trail riding .
