Ken who has been on 2 In The Saddle rides. Colombia Barichara - An adventurous ride in a little-travelled area of the world | The horses were all very fit and well cared for. The terrain was hilly, if not mountainous, with a few very steep sections that were easily handled by the horses. We did a fair amount of trotting and cantering up and down hills. Overall the pace of the riding met my expectations as described.

Sarah who has been on 17 In The Saddle rides. Colombia Barichara Ride - Beautiful country and lovely, willing horses | Colombia is a beautiful country and this is a great opportunity to see the 'real' countryside away from the tourist trail. The horses were lovely and clearly well loved and cared for. The riding was fun and fast but there are one or two days with a lot of roadwork and one day that was very strenuous for the horses. During the week I rode two horses and enjoyed both of them very much. The scenery really was incredible.

Ana who has been on 3 In The Saddle rides. Barichara Ride Colombia - beautiful countryside to explore | There were more road rides than expected. The rides on the roads were not very assuring all the times. Most of the riders, including myself, we care as priority the well being of the horses. Some of the rides through the trip were quite challenging on the horses, which sometimes was a concern. Maybe is worth considering dividing the difficult rides in stages, not to add some much pressure on the horses. Also, there were quite a few injuries because of the equipment, which probably is normal in such demanding environment, but the type of the injuries (withers).
(Abbie from In The Saddle replies, "Thank you very much for your feedback, which we have forwarded to the ride operator".)
James who has been on 5 In The Saddle rides. Colombia - Hardcore riding with spectacular views | The riding was challenging, with some very long days in the saddle and some tough terrain. However, the horses were amazing, strong and resilient, in keeping with In The Saddle's ethos. Spare horses travel loose at times, which can lead to some issues but are essential for keeping them all fit.
