This was my first time riding in this type of saddle, and I will say it was very comfortable.

Lisa who has been on 4 In The Saddle rides. Incredible family experience | The riding was perfectly tailored to our family's experience. Our novice children (aged 6, 8 and 11) had very safe ponies/horses and were able to move on to more forward going ones as they progressed. All cantered for the first time. Children should be prepared to ride reasonably large (15.2hh) horses - they were chosen based on temperament, being more reliable than ponies! There was no problem with that at all. My husband and I loved our more forward going but very straightforward freisan and thoroughbred.
Morning ride is normally 3 hours but we shortened to 2 hours so not too much for the children when it was hot. All activities are bespoke so that was no problem.
Swimming with horses in the dam was so much fun!

Lucy who has been on 6 In The Saddle rides. A unique and wonderful holiday | Riding was always good, some days better than others, dependent on other guests and their riding abilities. On occasion complete beginners are put with experienced riders which isn’t ideal, however, the guides try to split up during the ride so advanced riders can at least get a canter or two.
Groups are never more that 6 guests which is perfect.

Nichola (this is their first In The Saddle holiday) An amazing holiday of a lifetime | The staff were very accommodating, taking the rides at the pace which you wanted to go, plenty of opportunities to canter on different tracks also walking through herds of zebra, buffalo as well as getting up close to rhinos, giraffes as well as many other animals on the reserve.
The horses are well behaved and well cared for.
I was unsure what to expect after having had an injury before Christmas I was worried that I would hold the ride back but I was given a couple of confident giver horses who totally looked after me and even gave some of the ponies a run for their money, coming back with smiles at the end of each ride after being made to feel like a teenager all over again.

Love the riding because you can get so close to the game on the horses. Love that after we finish a ride or a sundowner we just take the tack off the horses and let them go free. SPECIAL PLACE!

The horses are beautifully cared for, and the staff listen to requests and feedback and adjust horses mindfully, if needed. The terrain was brilliant, a mixture of winding canters and long, fast, extended canters.

Carrie (this is their first In The Saddle holiday) Above all expectations! | It was my first riding holiday since I was a child and as an older rider just used to a gentle hour's hacking I was worried I wouldn't manage the riding. But I felt absolutely looked after, there were always options to join a canter or take a short cut at a slower pace. As it happened I was thrilled to be able to do all the rides on fabulous horses and I loved every minute!

It was everything I hoped: willing horses and great guides meant that we could ride so close to giraffe zebra, rhinos. Frankly I don’t think I’ve ever seen such happy and chilled horses. We loved the relaxed atmosphere and we made really good friends with the other guests as we shared sundowners and meals. A truly magical way to experience Africa.

The guides & volunteers were really nice. Creative rides and lovely experiences, we couldn't wish for more. Glynis (this is their first In The Saddle holiday) A Bucket List Holiday Ticked Off | I knew before I went on holiday I would not be riding twice a day everyday so I was very happy when Kim told me I could be picked up in the jeep after an hour and a half and leave the other riders to continue.
The terrain was much rockier than I had expected but the horses are so sure footed they made light work of it. It just took a while for me to realise I wasn't riding my own horse who would have stumbled and tripped.

Louise (this is their first In The Saddle holiday) Absolutely what I needed 100 stars | I was so very lucky. For some reason the staff worked me out so quickly as a rider and I was so utterly privileged to be given Ants personal horses to ride. The sharp ones. More sensistve. I was told on 3 occasions I was the first guest to be allowed to ride them and they were given to me all holiday. It made My experience perfect as I would have been bored on the other horses. Who where absolutely brilliant just not what I would have enjoyed being a professional rider
I was blown away to be so trusted with the horses and the way they were treated.

Janet who has been on 6 In The Saddle rides. Excellent holiday , wonderful staff | The staff were exceptionally knowledgeable and kind. The horses were forward and we were allowed to change horses until we found the absolute perfect match although all horses were forward thinking, obedient, enjoyable and safe.
The food was adequate but the choice was limited and it was hard to obtain snacks other then chips between meals.
The accommodation was open plan which face’s challenges sometimes but it was clean, well ventilated and comfortable.
[Olwen from In The Saddle notes - we are sorry that you found the choice of food to be limited. We understand there was a change of chef the week you were there, but it is a pity you found it lacking. Normally people are very positive about the food at Ant's.
You and your daughter were staying in the Family Cottage double room and you will remember we discussed that this room is more usually booked for couples but it was all that was available for you. I am sorry if I didn't highlight that the room is open plan through to the bathroom.]

Fiona who has been on 4 In The Saddle rides. Magical Experience! | The horses at Ant’s are well cared for and very loved by staff and guests alike. There is a range of horses available to ride and the team listen to your feedback to enable you to find the perfect horse to ride. The pace of the ride is determined by the group and the guide at the start of each ride. There are some sandy canter tracks on the reserve which are a lot of fun. Some guides were very keen to know our preferences for the ride and which animals we were hoping to see. As a result, we saw the baby rhinos on a few rides which was a highlight of the trip! We had two great guides who were very knowledgeable and lots of fun. Thank you Tek & OBK! I also had the opportunity to go on one of Ant’s rides which was very fast and a lot of fun! The whole team at Ant’s are dedicated to ensuring that you have the best holiday possible.
