Do you have upcoming travel plans? Would you like some guidance on whether your passport meets the current requirements for travel to Europe?
If you are a British passport holder, then do check out this handy guide from ABTA to ensure your passport is valid:
1. Visit the UK Government’s travel advice to find the passport rules for the country you are visiting. You can also sign up to receive email updates if the travel advice changes. See: UK Government Travel Advice
2. Be aware of the 10 year rule. For travel to most countries in Europe, your passport must have been issued less than 10 years before the date you enter the country, so make sure you check the date of issue.
3. Check the date of expiry to make sure your passport has enough validity remaining when you return. You will likely need at least 3-6 months left on your passport.
4. If you need to renew your passport, then apply online in plenty of time. The cheapest way to renew is by applying online at Gov.uk
