Christmas in Botswana

If you’ve always wondered what it might be like to spend Christmas on horseback in snowy Iceland, or sunny South Africa, then you might enjoy our next few blog posts. In the run-up to Christmas, we’ll be sharing how ride operators around the world usually spend the festive season.

Next up is Kujwana, in the Okavango Delta in Botswana.

The Christmas season at Kujwana

Bobanong and Sixteen

Not so much a snowy season in Botswana but the green season has arrived in the Okavango Delta. This means lots of new life, growth, as well as lush green grass which the horses love.  A very merry time for them indeed!

Christmas day

Kujwana’s team of grooms are still hard at work caring for the yard of 55 horses. The Christmas spirit is sure to be felt, as the staff enjoy a special Christmas day lunch, followed by a friendly inter-camp soccer match.  The horses graze close by, not to miss out of any of the action.

Gofa and Grey Stoke

A very Merry Christmas from Grey Stoke, Hodor, Bobanong and the team at Kujwana camp.

Hodor and Latina

Many thanks to Barney and Rosie for these lovely photos of the horses ready for Christmas in the Okavango Delta.
