Mongolia - Big Skies Horse Trail

Big Skies Horse Trail

Received on 18 August 2014

Posted by: SANJA who has been on 6 In The Saddle rides. "THE LITTLE HORSE WITH NO NAME" THE SADDLES WOODEN TREE AND LEATHER PANEL SIDES LEAD TO CONSTANT RUBBING ON THE INNER THIGH DUE TO ALL THE TROTTING AND CANTERING. LOTS OF PADDING IS NEEDED. I TOOK MY OWN SEAT SAVER AND TWO BANDAGES FOR MY THIGHS! DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE STRESS ON YOUR KNEES AND ANKLES. MINE BLEW UP LIKE BALLOONS! THIS WAS INSPITE OF A FITNESS PROGRAMME BEFORE TRAVELLING AND NO PREVIOUS INJURIES. THE PACE IS RELENTLESS COVERING OVER 30KM A DAY. WATERPROOFS ARE A MUST AND PLENTY OF INSECT REPELLENT FOR MOSQUITOS. THE HORSES DO NOT HAVE NAMES SO CREATE ONE ACCORIDNG TO THEIR PERSONALITY. NO STABLES THE HORSE ARE HOBBLED OR STAKED TO THE GROUND. THEY ALSO STAND FOR AN HOUR AFTER RIDING WITH THEIR TACK ON.

Overall Holiday Rating - Excellent
