Location:

The Riding Odyssey explores three different areas of Costa Rica, Maravilla in the Pacific Coastal area west of San Jose, the area around the Arenal volcano and ends on the coast south of Monteverde.

Weather:

Almost ideal year-round, the climate is a moderate 72ºF in the highlands, whilst at the lowlands and coastal areas it ranges from the low 70's to the high 90's. Rainy season occurs from the end of May to November, with the heaviest rainfall in October.

The Riding

Your horses are the study Criollo, ranging from 14hh to 15hh. You will find them eager, strong and amazingly sure footed. My top tip: Due to the humidity, the long riding days can feel a little tougher than they would in a drier climate and so a little extra riding fitness can really help on this ride.
