 Jo has been involved with horses since the age of four, inheriting her passion for all things equestrian from her father and has never been without a horse since. Jo and her husband Alan, have four horses, a TB (ex-racer), a Belgium warm blood, a Connemara and a Shire.
Prior to joining In The Saddle, Jo worked as groom at The Hillocks Equestrian Centre. With a dozen eventers and hunters in her care she thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of life as a groom, even the mucking out! The most rewarding part was gaining the trust of the youngsters and the subsequent bond that develops between horse and rider.
Previously, Jo spent fifteen years working in the newspaper industry, managing a local weekly newspaper in Ludlow.
Alan is an airline pilot and was formerly in the military so travel has been a big part of Jo's married life. Jo and Alan spent their honeymoon in Canada and even at minus 16°C still enjoyed trail riding through the Rockies. |
