UMNGAZI RIVER BUNGALOWS

Set on the scenic Wild Coast near to Port St. Johns, Umngazi River Bungalows combine relaxation and views of the Indian Ocean with activities such as canoeing, mountain biking, swimming and fishing. Spa treatments are also available. Accommodation is in pretty thatched bungalows with open air showers and there are also honeymoon cottages with spa baths. Children are welcome. Enjoy fantastic food and South African wines and in the evening relax watching the sun go down over the ocean.

THE BLUE TRAIN

The Blue Train is a unique experience, combining the luxury of a top quality hotel with the charm of train travel. Think of it as an all inclusive luxury rail cruise with an opportunity to view South Africa’s spectacular landscape along the way. The train runs once or twice a week in both directions between Pretoria/Johannesburg and Cape Town, departing in the morning and arriving early afternoon the following day.

CAPE TOWN AND THE GARDEN ROUTE

Cape Town itself is a vibrant and bustling city with lots to see and do. Between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth lies the Garden Route, one of the world’s most scenic drives. If you have the time you can spend a week exploring the area in detail, staying at some of the many lovely small guest houses along the coast. Even if you only have a few days then it still makes a great extension to a riding safari in southern Africa. The coast also offers some great whale watching. Between July and November this is the breeding ground for Southern Right Whales. The shallow sandy-bottomed and sheltered bays are perfect for mating, calving and nursing their young.
